# Terms of Service **vitalfan** Operated by Peter Louis Inc. 2030 NE 32nd Ave, Ste 107 Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33308 Contact: peter@peterlouis.com Last updated: 10 September 2026 --- ## 1. What this service does You upload cover artwork and either a finished interior PDF or a page count. We return a print-ready cover file — back panel, spine and front panel with bleed — a Kindle cover image, and a report listing every measurement we used and every check we ran. **What we verify:** file dimensions, resolution, colour mode, page count, page size consistency, spine width, safe margins, and the barcode area, against Amazon KDP's published specifications. **What we do not verify:** spelling, grammar, punctuation, factual accuracy, or anything about the content of your book. A file can be technically perfect and still contain an error on page one. Proofreading is yours. ## 2. What you keep **You own your book and your artwork.** Uploading them grants us a licence to do one thing: process those files to produce your order. That licence ends when the files are deleted. We do not use your manuscript or your artwork to train anything, we do not publish it, and we do not show it to anyone. **You own the output.** The cover files we produce are yours to use, sell, modify and publish without restriction and without attribution. ## 3. What you confirm By uploading, you confirm that you hold the rights to the artwork and the text, or have permission to use them. We do not check this and cannot. If a rights holder contacts us about something you uploaded, we will remove it, and you are responsible for the consequences of having uploaded it. Do not upload unlawful material. We will refuse or terminate service for it, and no refund is owed in that case. ## 4. Credits Credits are prepaid and do not expire. Credits are tied to the email address that bought them and are non-transferable. They may not be resold, shared or assigned. If you want to buy credits to use on behalf of clients, email peter@peterlouis.com — that is a normal arrangement and we will set it up properly. ## 5. Refunds **Unused credits are refundable in full, at any time, without explanation.** Email peter@peterlouis.com and we will return them. **Used credits are not refundable**, except as set out below. Before any payment is taken you see the actual covers we will produce, rendered from your own artwork, and the complete cover. That preview is the point at which to decide you do not want the result. **Partial refunds on a credit pack** are calculated at the single-cover rate, because the pack price is a volume discount you earn by using the volume: > refund = pack price − (credits used × $39) On a ten-pack at $290 with five credits used: $290 − $195 = **$95**. **If the files fail.** If a cover we produced is rejected by KDP because of a defect in our output, email us within 30 days with the rejection message and we will correct the files or refund that credit, your choice. This does not cover rejections caused by your artwork, your book's content, or your KDP account. **If your page count changes.** For 30 days after your order, we rebuild your cover free when the page count of your book changes and the spine no longer fits. We advertise this as 29 days so that the deadline we state always works; the extra day is yours. Use the rebuild page with your job number, the email address on the order, and the same cover artwork. We store a fingerprint of the artwork you uploaded — not the image itself — so that we can confirm a rebuild is the same book. A free rebuild covers a changed page count, not a changed cover; new artwork is a new order at the usual price. **Technical failures are refunded automatically.** If a job fails after payment, the charge is refunded or the credit returned without you having to ask. ## 6. Your files and how long we keep them | What | How long | |---|---| | Your artwork and interior PDF | deleted **7 days** after delivery | | The files we produced for you | deleted **30 days** after delivery | | The order record, containing no file contents | retained for accounting and dispute handling | You can delete everything sooner, yourself, from your download page. Deletion is immediate and permanent. We cannot recover deleted files and we do not keep a copy. **Download and back up your files.** Save them in two places. We are not a storage service and we are not your archive. ## 7. Artificial intelligence We use no AI or language model to produce your files. Every part of the process is deterministic software. If your artwork or your manuscript was created with AI tools, disclosing that to Amazon is your responsibility. KDP asks the question during upload, and the obligation falls on you as the publisher, not on us. ## 8. No relationship with Amazon We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Amazon, Kindle Direct Publishing, or any Amazon company. "Amazon", "Kindle Direct Publishing" and "KDP" are their trademarks, used here only to describe what our output is built to be compatible with. Amazon changes its specifications without notice. We track those changes and update our checks, but we cannot guarantee that a file accepted today will be accepted at any future date. ## 9. What we do not promise The service is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, that it will suit any particular book, or that any file will be accepted by Amazon or by any other printer. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the order the claim concerns. We are not liable for lost sales, lost royalties, delayed launches, printing costs, or any indirect or consequential loss. ## 10. Suspension We may suspend or refuse service for unlawful uploads, attempts to circumvent credit limits or resell credits, abuse of our staff, or conduct that threatens the service. If we suspend an account that holds unused credits and you have done nothing wrong, we refund them. ## 11. Changes to these terms We may change these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date and, where we have your email address, sent to you. Changes do not apply retroactively to orders already placed. ## 12. Governing law These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law rules. --- # Privacy Notice **What we collect:** your email address, the files you upload, the order details you enter, a fingerprint of your cover artwork, and basic technical logs. **The artwork fingerprint** is 64 bits describing how brightness changes across a thumbnail of your image. It is not a copy of your artwork, it cannot be used to reconstruct it, and it tells us nothing about what the picture contains. It exists so that we can confirm a free rebuild is for the same book after your files have been deleted. **What we do with it:** produce your order, send your download link and receipt, and warn you before your files are deleted. Nothing else. **Payment information** is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's privacy policy governs that data. **We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use your files to train any model.** **How long we keep it:** files as set out in section 6 above. Your email address and order record are kept for seven years for accounting purposes. **Your rights:** email peter@peterlouis.com to receive a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Deleting your account record also removes any unused credits, so request a refund of those first.
